It’s a great western by Cagney, wish you could post another of his-Run for Cover. Thanks very much.

In a moment of boredom, I chose this film for lack of anything better. Just a Jimmy Cagney movie.
Wrong. It is a timeless psychological drama that would suit any age; the interplay between James Cagney, Irene Papas and Don Dubbins puts a new twist on the eternal triangle. Cagney was a fine actor and his ability was matched by Papas, Dubbins and Stephen McNally as Mc Nulty. Wise allowed the story to unfold with perhaps only the end scene being slightly predictable, but satisfying for all that.
A fifty-six year old film; fresh as yesterday’s paint.

James Cagney was a great actor.
Saw him in White Heat and he was as great.
But, I noticed a horse with a special mark in the white of his right upper side of his face.
I saw this horse with other actors in many other western movies..
Those fine well dresses horses should have their name in the actor list !
I wonder what became of those nice beasts. Were they rented for the movies or owned by the film company?

    Thanks for the nice memories.

Howdy and Thanks for the post. There were stables that specialized in providing horses for the movies such as Glenn Randall and Fat Jones.

vintage cagney. Aggressive, feisty, tough, hard as nails, bad to the bone. Great film.
